Hincapie also now holds the yellow jersey. Mike Creed sprinted away from the field just 9 miles from the start, and with two other riders stayed away for over 40. But the peleton caught them, and Bernhard Kohl solidified his hold on the King of the Mountain title, cresting the grueling final climb just ahead of Levi Leipheimer.
