| Beginning in 1957 as a small French team, Crédit Agricole has a deep history in the sport of France that is now supported by the French financial conglomerate Crédit Agricole S.A. Team stand-outs have included Piétro Caucchioli (ITA) and Thor Hushovd (NOR), who in 2006, took two stage wins and two days in the yellow jersey during the Tour de France, won Gent-Wevelgem, and won a stage at the Vuelta a España. The Crédit Agricole team looks forward to the return of young American Saul Raisin (USA) who hopes to come back strong in 2007 after a life-threatening crash during the Circuit de la Sarthe in 2006. Watch for Crédit Agricole to improve on last year’s fifth place finish in the overall team classification. |
