Career Summary
Top American cyclist Bobby Julich returns to California hoping to better his third place finish overall in the inaugural event. His long, fruitful career has included finishing 3rd overall in the 1998 Tour de France and becoming the first American to win Paris- Nice in 2005. That same year, he also won the Benelux Tour and the Criterium International.Julich is also a hard-working teammate and has ridden as a domestique for Team Telekom's Jan Ullrich and Team CSC's Ivan Basso. He is a strong time trialist and won a bronze medal at the 2004 Olympic Time Trial Championships.
In 1996, Julich was diagnosed and treated for Reentrant Supraventricular Tachycardia (RSVT), a condition that caused his heart to beat very fast.
