Career Summary

California boy Tony Cruz kicked off his European cycling career in 2004 with a stage win at the Tour de l'Ain. He has since developed into a strong european classics cyclist. From 2001-2005, Cruz was part of the legendary USPS and Discovery Channel squads that helped Lance Armstrong to a record seven Tour de France victories. Cruz's abilities as a domestique helped the team become one of the best in the world. Cruz rejoins the Discovery Channel Pro Cycling Team after one year of domestic racing with the Toyota- United Pro team.

Cruz won the USPRO Criterium title in 1999. In 2000, he won the US Olympic Trials road race, which earned him a spot on the Sydney Olympic team.
