Career Summary

Jason McCartney is a talented climber and a tough competitor as he demonstrated by winning the King of the mountains overall title during the 2006 Tour de Georgia, despite suffering from stomach flu.

In 2005, he won the KOM title during the San Francisco Grand Prix and raced such notable events as the Tour of Basque Country, Tour de Benelux, Tour of Poland, Tour of Germany, the World Championships, and the Giro d'Italia.

His 2004 performance with Health Net earned him a spot on Discovery's squad. At the Tour de Georgia that year, he won the stage to Dahlonega (named VeloNews North American “Ride of the Year”) and the overall mountains classification.
