Career Summary
One of the youngest competitors at the Amgen Tour of California, Robert Gesink will be racing for the first time on Rabobank' s ProTour team after a solid season on the Rabobank Continental Team. According to Rabobank director Theo de Rooij the early switch of Gesink is a result of his fast development: "Robert is an extraordinary talent...a Dutch climber, who can be as fast as the best: we have to cherish him."He is a two-time former Dutch national junior time trial champion and finished second in the 2006 Tour de l' Avenir.
