Career SummaryOne of the youngest competitors at the Amgen Tour of California, Steven Cozza already has several years experience racing at the national and international levels. He began racing in Europe at 16 and has competed with the Italian Junior Team and the US National Team in Belgium.
He is a strong time trialer and won the 2005 U23 National Time Trial Championships in addition to several time trial stages in races at the national and international levels.
He is perhaps more widely known for his Scouting for All advocacy work. As a 13-year-old heterosexual boy scout, Cozza wrote an editorial that criticized the Boy Scouts of America’s policies on homosexuality. He went on to become an Eagle Scout at 14 and a competitive cyclist at 15.
