Career Summary
Born and raised in Havana, Cuba, Ivan Dominguez is Toyota-United’s number one sprinter. He is a twotime Pan-Am Games Gold Medalist and former Cuban National Champion. He set (1997) and still holds his country’s 4-kilometer record.He has had several major wins including the CSC and the Bank of America Invitationals and the USA Crits Series. In 2006, he had ten podium appearances with a second place finish at the Philadelphia International Championships. In 2004, he had three second place finishes at Tour de Georgia--one behind Lance Armstrong and one behind Mario Cipollini. His speed as a sprinter is backed by his endurance and climbing strength, a combo few riders possess.
He defected to the US in 1998 while here for the Goodwill Games and worked in a shoe factory.
