Career Summary
As Western Australia’s most successful road cyclist, Henk Vogels’ list of achievements are long. Along with top ten finishes in Paris-Roubaix, Paris- Tours, and Gent-Wevelgem, he has won a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games, the USPRO Road and Criterium Championships, and the Australian National Road Championships.One of his greatest feats off the bike was his remarkable recovery from a near-fatal crash in 2003 that resulted in severe head, spine, and ankle injuries.
Vogels is also one of the sport’s best lead out men. As a member of the Davitamon-Lotto team for two season, he lead Robbie McEwen to multiple wins including six Giro d’Italia stage wins. Racing for Toyota-United for 2007, Vogels is poised to help the team make an immediate impact in California.
