| Heavily supported by Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), Specialized, and the USA Cycling Development Foundation, the USA Cycling National Development Team represents some of the best and brightest young competitive American cyclists. With a resident program in Belgium, USA Cycling gives young aspiring pros the resources needed to succeed at cycling's highest level. A complete European race program is complimented by a full staff of directors, trainers, and mechanics that provide support to cyclists in both Europe and North America. Since its inception in 1999, the USA Cycling Development Team has placed eight riders on UCI ProTour Teams – cycling's highest level of competition – including David Zabriskie, Tyler Farrar, Saul Raisin, Michael Creed, Aaron Olson, Damon Kluck, Patrick McCarty and the latest member of the Discovery Channel Pro Cycling Team John Devine. Each year, USA Cycling selects a pool of future stars to compete on the National Team and represent the U.S. in USA Cycling Professional Tour and National Championship events, as well as key international races and UCI World Championships. Sponsors include AMD, the leading global provider of innovative microprocessor solutions; Specialized Bicycle Components, Inc., of Morgan Hill, CA, a leading brand of high-performance bicycles and components; and the USA Cycling Development Foundation, that raises money to drive USA Cycling athlete development programs for junior and U23 athletes. |
