Damon Castillo Band to Perform at AMGEN Tour of California
Los Angeles, CA – For the second year in a row AEG has secured the
Damon Castillo Band to perform on the “Main Stage” at the
Amgen Tour of California Health Net Lifestyle Festival. Beginning on February 17th at Stanford University in Palo Alto, the California-based, five-piece band will play at each of the tour’s eight progressive stops on the 650-mile course terminating in Pasadena.
The Damon Castillo Band began 2008 with a bang. Their song “Revolving Door” was featured on MTV’s hit reality show, Laguna Beach and Billboard.com delivered a noteworthy review of their recent concert in Los Angeles:
“The Damon Castillo Band had the formula to turn a crowd full of random conversation into a captive audience that couldn't take their eyes and ears away from the stage. In all…a funk and rock inspired return to very real music. [The crowd was] given an intimate look at a band putting on an unreal on-stage jam session.” The Band is happy to be playing the
Tour of California again. Damon states,
“Last year the festival was a blast…I'm looking forward to the race now that I have learned more about the sport, and the band and I are excited to be playing some of the new material that will be coming out on our next album.” The new record is Laurel Lane, a 13-track album set to release this spring. After the success of their acoustic EP, Revolving Door, fans are eagerly awaiting this next installation of music, which Damon describes as, “a more distilled version of their band sound,” “autobiographical,” and a “statement” among “this day of manufactured music.” Laurel Lane is being produced by Grammy-Award-winner Ross Hogarth.
