Interesting Facts

After completing the most touted amateur career of his generation, Voeckler has consistently delivered results since turning pro in 2001. He returned to his birthplace, France, in his late teens after shining among the amateur ranks and winning the national espoirs award from Velo Magazine in 2001. In 2004 he made himself a national hero when he bravely defended the yellow jersey for 10 days in the Tour de France and finished 18th overall. Reputed as one of the cleanest riders in the peloton, Voeckler continues to attack and win races across Europe, but this year his dream is to win a stage at the Tour de France this year.
