Luxembourg National Road Race & Time Trial Champion Kim Kirchen is one of the sport's most consistent European racers and has had multiple top ten stage finishes at the Tour de France and the Giro d'Italia. He has won several smaler stage races including the Tour of Poland, the Tour of Holland, and the Tour of Bern. He has also won Paris-Brussels and has been named the Luxembourgian Sportsman of the Year in 2000, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2007, surpassing the achievement of fellow cyclist Charly Gaul and putting him fourth in the all-time standings. Last season he achieved an impressive 7th place overall finish in the Tour de France.
