Interesting Facts

Lowe, a former full-time professional mountain biker, is one of the three Australians on the Garmin Squad. He had a breakthrough year on the road in 2005 riding for Jittery Joe's and caught eye of Discovery Channel sports manager Johan Bruyneel. He was signed for Discovery Channel because of his superior climbing abilities. In 2002 he won the UCI MTB World Junior XC Championship, then he won the under-23 Australian National Mountain Bike Championship in 2003 and 2004. Since turning pro he has achieved multiple Best Young Rider competition top finishes, including the overall win in the category in the 2008 Tour de Georgia.
