Interesting Facts

American Christian Vandevelde brings years of European road experience to the squad, and was the team's star with his 5th place overall finish at the Tour de France in 2008. He was a valuable domestique for two of the Tour de France teams that saw Lance Armstrong to victory, and during the 2006 Tour de France, he rode support for team captains Carlos Sastre and Frank Schleck. Like his father John, who was an Olympic an national track champion, Vandevelde got his start on the track.
