About

Bissell Pro Cycling, ranked #1 in the 2011 NRC team standings, is one of the most consistently well placed and aggressive teams in US domestic racing. BISSELL riders include the US National Criterium Champion, as well as, New Zealand’s top finishers in both the U23 and Elite National Championships. BISSELL consistently has the highest placed domestic riders at the most competitive US international races and battles at the top-level at all US domestic races. In 2012, the UCI-registered Continental outfit will again focus on combining seasoned veterans and developing riders to achieve great results.

The team is based in California and is managed by Santa Rosa resident, Glen Mitchell. BISSELL has been a staple in the Amgen Tour of California since 2007. The team has shown solid results in both the time trial where they have consistently had the top placed domestic rider, as well as, climbing stages where they have earned the KOM jersey. In 2011, BISSELL was the most animated domestic team in the race having a rider in the breakaway on six of the seven stages.

This year, the team hopes to once again feature in much of the race action. Stage 1 in Santa Rosa, and stage 2 into Santa Cruz county, hometown of rider Ben Jacques-Maynes, hold particular significance for the team. The new course in Bakersfield is well suited for the team’s time trialists and BISSELL climbers will stay strong and focused for the mountain stages.
