AboutThe BMC Racing Team is a United States-registered UCI ProTeam title sponsored by Switzerland-based bicycle manufacturer BMC.The 2012 roster features defending Tour de France champion Cadel Evans and a veteran supporting cast, as well as a host of talented newcomers that includes world No. 1-ranked and Belgian national road and time trial champion Philippe Gilbert. Surrounding them is a host of talent that includes past world road champions Alessandro Ballan and Thor Hushovd, three-time U.S. national road champion George Hincapie, reigning Swiss national time trial champion Martin Kohler, and past national time trial champions Taylor Phinney (U.S.) and Marco Pinotti (Italy). In 2011 – its first season as a ProTeam – the BMC Racing Team won 12 races and finished fifth in the UCI WorldTour team standings. As a pro continental squad in 2010, the team achieved a number of successes, including leading both the Tour de France and the Giro d’Italia in its first participation in both races.
