Interesting Facts

Gesink, a two-time former Dutch national junior TT Champion, joined the Rabobank Continental Team in 2006, only to transfer to the ProTeam a year later. The early switch was a result of his fast development, as he had already demonstrated his remarkable climbing ablilities. Gesink will ride on the Rabobank squad until the year 2012, which means he has signed on for a longer time period than the average rider - and Gesink was obviously pleased by this, saying, “The decision was not hard for me. Everything with the Rabo Cycling Team feels right. I think it is amazing that I can sign with such a team for such a long time.”
