Greater Palm Springs

Greater Palm Springs welcomes the 2013 Amgen Tour of California! Known as the “Oasis of Southern California”, Greater Palm Springs is emerging as one of the country's most desirable destinations for hosting dynamic sporting events and athletic competitions on all levels, from amateur and youth to collegiate and professional.

It is no coincidence that world renowned events such as the PGA Humana Golf Classic, LPGA Kraft Nabisco Challenge and acclaimed BNP Paribas World Tennis Championship have all selected Greater Palm Springs as their home. With great year-round weather, consistent and pristine conditions for competitive sports can be found throughout our nine unique cities, which include Palm Springs, Desert Hot Springs, Cathedral City, Rancho Mirage, Palm Desert, Indian Wells, La Quinta, Indio, and Coachella.

All offer an abundance of accommodations, venues, restaurants, golf, spas, shopping and attractions that continue to attract more than 11 million visitors from around the world each year.

"The City of Palm Springs is honored to host the best cyclists in the world for the 2013 Amgen Tour of California," said Mayor Steve Pougnet. "The cyclists will have a great race experience with beautiful desert scenery and unmatched hospitality when they arrive at the finish line in Palm Springs."

— Mayor, Steve Pougnet, Palm Springs, CA
