Attending America’s Greatest Race is a fun and exciting day for all and one of the highlights is visiting the Amgen Tour of California Lifestyle Festival located at each of the finish line host cities. Thousands of spectators gather at the Amgen Tour of California Lifestyle Festival where they can watch the race on outdoors video screens while awaiting the arrival of the peloton for the thrilling finish. There is so much to see, do and learn that you can literally spend all day at the festival enjoying live music, food and beverages, entertainment and interactive experiences, shop for race merchandise, play games, and discover and demo new cycling products along with the latest tips for healthy living.

If you’re like me, you love swag and merch. Every year, the design team cranks out hot-looking Amgen Tour of California apparel for men, women and children, including authentic replicas of the race jersey’s worn by the pros. T-shirts, hats, hoodies and official race collectibles will be available at the festival’s retail shop. Many of cycling’s top brands will have booths so you can check out their latest bikes, equipment and technology; score deals on gear, goodies and gadgets; and sample nutritional products.

Amgen will have two booths at the Amgen Tour of California Lifestyle Festival to share information about two of the world’s most serious illnesses: cancer and cardiovascular disease. The Breakaway from Cancer booth is part of Amgen’s national initiative to increase awareness of important resources available to people affected by cancer – from prevention through survivorship. Amgen’s four Breakaway from Cancer nonprofit partners will be present to distribute vital info and support about prevention, facing a new diagnosis, caring for a loved one or dealing with the financial burden of the disease. To lighten the mood, there will be an interactive photo booth as Amgen and the nonprofits build the world’s largest cancer support team.

Amgen’s cardiovascular booth will provide information about the world’s leading cause of death. There you can check your cholesterol and take the Cardio Exercise Challenge. The American Heart Association will be present to educate about the factors affecting heart health like blood pressure, exercise, cholesterol, glucose, weight and general treatment considerations.

If you have kids from 18 months to 5 years-old, you’ve got to bring them to the STRIDER Cup Regional Races where they can discover cycling amidst playful competition. At Stages 1, 5, 7 and 8, young children can ride through unique terrain and obstacles in the STRIDER Adventure Zone, which should be pretty a cool adventure producing smiles and memories for both children and parents.
