Hundreds of SoCal cyclists will get a feel of what the Amgen Tour of California riders will experience on Stage 8 at Sunday morning’s L’Etape du California in Thousand Oaks. Cyclists will ride the 20-mile loop that the pro peloton will complete four times on the final day of this year’s race. It is the same circuit that was used on the last stage of the 2010 ATOC, which saw Canadian Ryder Hesjedal ride to victory after climbing 8,800 feet on the challenging route that was lined with a massive, enthusiastic throng staked out on the famed Rock Store climb on Mulholland Drive that made it look like it was a Tour de France mountain stage.
