Amtrak. Travel Made Simple.

Amtrak®, the Official Mass Transit Partner of the 2009 Amgen Tour of California, serves over 500 destinations nationwide, with more than 90 in California. The stress-free travel alternative to airports and the freeway, Amtrak trains feature big windows, wide, comfortable seats and available onboard food and drink. And many trains in California even have bike and surfboard racks, letting your outdoor gear come along for the ride.
Amtrak San Joaquin® links Sacramento and the San Francisco Bay Area with the Central Valley and Bakersfield, with an available connection into Southern California. Amtrak Capitol Corridor® connects San Jose, the Bay Area and Sacramento.
Down south, the Pacific Surfliner® serves San Luis Obispo, Los Angeles and San Diego, along with many destinations - and plenty of ocean views - in-between.
For an even bigger adventure, the Amtrak Coast Starlight® serves Los Angeles, the Bay Area and Seattle, while the Southwest Chief® connects LA and Chicago. Take in the beauty of the Sierra Nevada and Rocky Mountain ranges en route from the Bay Area to Chicago on the California Zephyr®. Amtrak service is available to the Amgen Tour of California start cities of Sacramento, Davis, San Jose and Merced, along with the finish citiy of Paso Robles, plus the time trial in Solvang. Instead of fighting the freeway, sit back, relax and enjoy car-free travel to the race. For more information on fares, routes and schedules, visit Amtrak.com.
