L'Etape California 2019

Date: June 9, 2019
Location: Mount Baldy, CA

L’Etape California by Le Tour de France invites riders to experience the Tour de France in California by designing a challenging ride that visually recreates the atmosphere of riding a grueling mountain stage of the world’s most famous cycling race. Created in conjunction with Tour de France Race Organizers, L’Etape California is your only chance to experience the Tour De France Legend in the United States.

The third edition of L’Etape California will feature a return to the illustrious Mount Baldy on June 9; just weeks after we watch the Men and Women of the Amgen Tour of California summit the Southern California landmark.

All L’Etape California participants will begin their journey together as part of an escorted peloton. Riders on the 55 mile route will encounter two timed climbs, while those on the 90 mile route will conquer a third. All though the event is not a race, friends can fight for bragging rights to establish themselves as endurance general classification riders or Classics domestiques reserved for short bursts. No matter the comparison, all riders are welcomed to enjoy a post ride meal!

Course Options

Short Course Approximately 55 miles with 8,000 feet of climbing
Long Course – Approximately 90 miles with 12,000 feet of climbing

Both routes will feature Rest Stops approximately every 1-2 hours along the ride to keep participants fueled and hydrated. Free mechanical support will be provided by SRAM at the start line and along the course.

Saturday, June 8: Event Expo, Rider Check-In, Tour de France Ambassador Meet & Greet
Sunday, June 9: Ride, Post-Event Meal & Entertainment
