LOS ANGELES (May 15, 2018) – AEG, producer and presenter of the Amgen Tour of California welcomes returning and new partners for the 13th annual professional cycling race, once again selling out all sponsorship categories and inventory.

Amgen, a biotechnology company in the race to dramatically improve patients’ lives, is proud to sponsor the Amgen Tour of California yet again this year. To raise awareness around two of the world's most serious illnesses and connect with patients, title sponsor Amgen will host two booths; Breakaway from Cancer® and Breakaway from Heart DiseaseTM at the Lifestyle Festival.

  • Breakaway from Cancer® is a national initiative to increase awareness of important resources available to people affected by cancer – from prevention through survivorship. Representatives from Amgen's four Breakaway from Cancer® independent nonprofit partners will be on-site, offering information and resources for festivalgoers who are interested in prevention, facing a new diagnosis, or caring for a loved one. In addition, event attendees will have the opportunity to buy an Amgen Tour of California-themed t-shirt with all proceeds benefiting the Breakaway from Cancer® independent nonprofit partners.
  • Breakaway from Heart DiseaseTM encourages Americans to take charge of their risk of heart disease and represents a partnership between Amgen and the American Heart Association. This initiative is dedicated to empowering everyone to have a plan for good heart health through diagnostic screenings, courtesy of the American Heart Association, as well as information and tools related to physical activity and healthy eating. Amgen also has a partnership with the bike company Schwinn to encourage heart healthy activities like bike riding.

Keck Medicine of the University of Southern California (USC) is the official hospital of the Amgen Tour of California. KT Tape, the category leader in kinesiology taping products, will be part of the Amgen Tour of California Lifestyle Festival at various points along this year’s route. Fans visiting the KT Tape booth will have an opportunity to sample KT Tape’s range of products, learn tips and taping techniques to support muscles, tendons and ligaments, and pick up their favorite KT Tape products. Find the KT Tape booth in Long Beach, along the Stage 2 climb up Gibraltar, in South Lake Tahoe and Sacramento. Tape Man will also make appearances during the race to provide product demonstrations. 


Lexus is excited to continue its sponsorship as the official automotive partner of the

Amgen Tour of California for the fourth year in a row. Lexus will provide a fleet of more than 100 vehicles for display purposes as well as team and operational support. Through the premier sponsorship, Lexus will present the King of the Mountain jersey daily and provide a Lexus vehicle prize to both the men’s and women’s race winners. 

Join Lexus for an amazing driving experience at the track during Stage 3 in Monterey County. Guests can sign up for an exhilarating Lexus hot lap on the iconic “Corkscrew” turn with the opportunity to ride with one of America’s top sports car drivers, Scott Pruett.

Additionally, Lexus will participate in the Lifestyle Festivals of Long Beach, Monterey County, San Jose, Elk Grove, South Lake Tahoe and Sacramento. Come see the new RXL, ride alongside Lexus Cycling Ambassador Christian Vande Velde in an immersive video experience, or put your legs to the test and compete in a Zwift virtual ride. The Maxxis BMX Stunt Team performs across the country, bringing thrilling BMX displays to professional sporting events, exhibitions and fairs. The team consists of some of the best riders in the country, as seen on the X Games and Dew Tour, throwing down tricks that will be sure to impress. The team will perform daily at the Amgen Tour of California Lifestyle Festival (near the daily finish line), so be sure to stop by and cheer them on!
