AMGEN INDIVIDUAL GENERAL CLASSIFICATION
Jersey for the rider that occupies first place in the Amgen Individual General Classification, which is established by adding together the times obtained for each stage, taking bonuses and penalties into consideration.
Time bonuses are awarded, with ten, six and four seconds being deducted from those who place first, second and third respectively at each stage finish. Intermediate sprints also reward those who finish in the top three, but the amount of time is less than the stage finish bonuses. It is possible for a rider to wear this highly contested jersey without winning a stage since it recognizes overall race times, not stage finish results.
VISIT CALIFORNIA SPRINT CLASSIFICATION
Jersey for the rider that occupies first place in the Visit California Sprint Classification, which is established by adding together the points obtained in each stage as well as the intermediate sprints.
Points are awarded to riders at the finish of each stage and at intermediate sprints during a stage. The top 10 riders are awarded points at the finish of each race and the amount of points awarded then reduces for each place. Meanwhile, intermediate sprints only reward the first three riders with points and fewer points are up for grabs.
LEXUS KING (KOM) & QUEEN (QOM) OF THE MOUNTAIN CLASSIFICATION
This jersey recognizes the peloton's strongest climber each day – the rider who collects the most points at KOM/QOM locations on designated mountains and hills.
Climbs are classified in four different categories based on length and slope (category HC, category 1, category 2, category 3). The amount of points on offer and places receiving points depends on which category the climb falls under, with Category HC offering the most and Category 3 offering the least.
